sa bandhur yo vipannanam apaduddharana-kshamah
na tu bheetaparitrana-vastoopalambha-panditah
स बन्धुर्यो विपन्नानामापदुद्धरणक्षमः।
न तु भीतपरित्राणवस्तूपालम्भपण्डितः॥
A true friend is one who can pull you out of trouble when you are in distress — not one who is clever at blaming you when you are frightened and need saving.
What it means
