Hitopadesha 1.28 meaning

asambhavam hemamrigasya janma tath-api ramo lulubhe mrigaya prayah samapanna-vipattikale dhiyopi punsam malina bhavanti

A golden deer cannot possibly exist, yet even Rama was tempted to chase one. Often, when trouble is about to strike, even wise people's judgement becomes clouded.

What it means
Even the wisest can be fooled by something too good to be true. When an offer seems impossible, pause. Stress and temptation cloud judgement, so slow down before you chase the shiny thing.
