vidyarthee sevakah panthah kshudharto bhayakatarah
bhandaree pratiharee cha sapta suptan prabodhayet
Seven people should be woken if they fall asleep: a student, a servant on duty, a traveller, someone hungry, someone frightened, a storekeeper and a gatekeeper.
What it means
Some people cannot afford to drift off: those with responsibilities, a journey, or a need. If you see someone you care about sleeping through their duty, gently waking them is an act of kindness.
Spoken by Chanakya.
