Chanakya Niti 7.12 meaning
n-atyantam saralair bhavyam gatva pashya vanasthaleem
chidyante saralas tatra kubjas tishthanti padapah
नात्यन्तं सरलैर्भाव्यं गत्वा पश्य वनस्थलीम् ।
छिद्यन्ते सरलास्तत्र कुब्जास्तिष्ठन्ति पादपाः ॥
Don't be too straight and simple. Go and look at a forest: the straight trees are the ones that get cut down, while the crooked ones are left standing.

Being kind doesn't mean being naive. People who never say no are easily used. Stay honest, but learn to set boundaries and protect your interests with a little practical sense.हिंदी में अर्थ
बहुत ज़्यादा सीधे मत बनो। जंगल में जाकर देखो, सीधे पेड़ ही काटे जाते हैं और टेढ़े पेड़ खड़े रहते हैं।
भला होने का मतलब भोला होना नहीं। जो कभी 'ना' नहीं कहते, उनका आसानी से फ़ायदा उठाया जाता है। ईमानदार रहो, पर अपनी सीमाएँ तय करना भी सीखो।
