Chanakya Niti 14.4 meaning
jale tailam khale guhyam patre danam manag api
prajne shastram svayam yati vistaram vastushaktitah
जले तैलं खले गुह्यं पात्रे दानं मनागपि।
प्राज्ञे शास्त्रं स्वयं याति विस्तारं वस्तुशक्तितः॥
Oil on water, a secret told to a gossip, a small gift to a deserving person, and knowledge given to a wise mind all spread out on their own, by their very nature.

पानी पर तेल, दुष्ट को बताया राज़, योग्य व्यक्ति को दिया थोड़ा सा दान, और समझदार को दिया ज्ञान, ये सब अपने स्वभाव से अपने आप फैल जाते हैं।
तुम चीज़ कहाँ रखते हो, उसी से तय होता है कि वह कितनी फैलेगी। राज़ सोच-समझकर बताओ, दान सही हाथ में दो, और ज्ञान सीखने वालों को दो। सही जगह छोटी चीज़ भी कई गुना बढ़ती है।
