Chanakya Niti 13.3 meaning
svabhavena hi tushyanti devah satpurushah pita
jnatayah snanapanabhyam vakyadanena panditah
स्वभावेन हि तुष्यन्ति देवाः सत्पुरुषाः पिता।
ज्ञातयः स्नानपानाभ्यां वाक्यदानेन पण्डिताः॥
The gods, good people and a father are pleased simply by your good nature. Relatives are pleased by hospitality with food and drink, and scholars by a thoughtful word.
