Chanakya Niti 11.7 meaning
antargatamalo dushtas teerthasnana-shatair api
na shuddhyati yatha bhandam suraya dahitam cha yat
अन्तर्गतमलो दुष्टस्तीर्थस्नानशतैरपि।
न शुद्ध्यति यथा भाण्डं सुराया दाहितं च यत्॥
A person dirty on the inside is not made pure even by a hundred dips in holy rivers, just as a pot used for liquor stays impure even after being burned in fire.
What it means
Outer rituals cannot clean what needs to be cleaned within. Pilgrimages, posts and appearances mean little if your intentions stay the same. Real change starts with honest work on your own heart.हिंदी में अर्थ
जिसका मन अंदर से मैला है, वह सौ बार तीर्थ में नहाकर भी शुद्ध नहीं होता, जैसे शराब का बर्तन आग में तपाने पर भी शुद्ध नहीं होता।
बाहरी कर्मकांड अंदर की मैल नहीं धो सकते। अगर इरादे वही रहें तो तीर्थ और दिखावा बेकार है। असली बदलाव अपने मन पर ईमानदारी से काम करने से शुरू होता है।
