apadarthe dhanam rakshech chreematam kuta apadah
kadachich chalate lakshmeeh sanchitopi vinashyati
आपदर्थे धनं रक्षेच्छ्रीमतां कुत आपदः ।
कदाचिच्चलते लक्ष्मीः सञ्चितोऽपि विनश्यति ॥
Save money for hard times. Someone may ask, 'What trouble can the rich ever have?' But fortune is fickle; sometimes it simply walks away, and even what has been saved can vanish.

मुसीबत के समय के लिए धन बचाकर रखो। कोई कहे कि अमीरों पर क्या मुसीबत आएगी? पर लक्ष्मी चंचल है, कभी भी चली जाती है, और जमा किया धन भी नष्ट हो सकता है।
आज की सुख-सुविधा को स्थायी मत समझो। आपात स्थिति के लिए बचत करो और घमंड से बचो। समझदारी से बचाया गया पैसा कल का सुकून बनता है।
