Chanakya Niti 1.13 meaning
yo dhruvani parityajya adhruvam parishevate
dhruvani tasya nashyanti ch-adhruvam nashtam eva hi
यो ध्रुवाणि परित्यज्य अध्रुवं परिषेवते ।
ध्रुवाणि तस्य नश्यन्ति चाध्रुवं नष्टमेव हि ॥
One who abandons what is certain and chases what is uncertain loses the certain thing too, and the uncertain was never really theirs anyway.
What it means
Don't drop a solid opportunity for a tempting gamble. Ambition is good, but secure your foundation first. Chasing every shiny possibility often leaves you with nothing at all.हिंदी में अर्थ
जो पक्की चीज़ को छोड़कर अनिश्चित के पीछे भागता है, उसकी पक्की चीज़ भी हाथ से निकल जाती है, और अनिश्चित तो पहले से ही खोया हुआ है।
किसी लुभावने जुए के लिए पक्का अवसर मत छोड़ो। महत्वाकांक्षा अच्छी है, पर पहले अपनी नींव मज़बूत करो। हर चमकती चीज़ के पीछे भागने वाला अक्सर खाली हाथ रह जाता है।
