Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.25 meaning
sa va esha mahan aja atmajaromaromritobhayo brahma
abhayam vai brahm-abhayam hi vai brahma bhavati ya evam veda
स वा एष महानज आत्माऽजरोऽमरोऽमृतोऽभयो ब्रह्म ।
अभयं वै ब्रह्माभयं हि वै ब्रह्म भवति य एवं वेद ॥
This great, unborn Self is ageless, deathless, immortal and fearless — it is Brahman. Brahman is fearlessness itself, and whoever knows this becomes fearless Brahman.
What it means
The body ages and the mind worries, but your deepest Self was never born and cannot be harmed. Remembering this is a direct medicine for fear, especially fear of growing old and dying.हिंदी में अर्थ
यह महान, अजन्मा आत्मा न बूढ़ा होता है, न मरता है; यह अमर और निर्भय है — यही ब्रह्म है। ब्रह्म निर्भयता ही है, और जो यह जानता है, वह निर्भय ब्रह्म हो जाता है।
शरीर बूढ़ा होता है, मन चिंता करता है, पर आपका गहरा स्वरूप न जन्मा, न उसे चोट लग सकती है। यह याद रखना डर की, खासकर बुढ़ापे और मृत्यु के डर की, सीधी दवा है।
