yair iyam bubhuje brahman daityendrair anivartibhih
tesham kalograseel lokan na yashodhigatam bhuvi
यैरियं बुभुजे ब्रह्मन्दैत्येन्द्रैरनिवर्तिभिः।
तेषां कालोऽग्रसील्लोकान्न यशोऽधिगतं भुवि॥
The great demon kings who enjoyed this earth and never turned back from battle were all swallowed by time, along with their worlds. But they did not gain lasting fame on earth.
What it means
Power and possessions fade with their owners. What remains is the memory of how generously and honestly we lived. Kings and empires vanish, but a reputation for honesty and generosity is remembered long after.हिंदी में अर्थ
जिन बड़े दैत्य राजाओं ने इस धरती का भोग किया और युद्ध से कभी पीछे नहीं हटे, उन सबको समय अपने लोकों सहित निगल गया। पर उन्हें धरती पर स्थायी यश नहीं मिला।
शक्ति और संपत्ति अपने मालिकों के साथ मिट जाती हैं। जो बचता है, वह यह याद है कि हमने कितनी उदारता और ईमानदारी से जीवन जिया।
