Srimad Bhagavatam 8.20.7 meaning

shreyah kurvanti bhootanam sadhavo dustyaj-asubhih dadhyan shibiprabhritayah ko vikalpo dharadishu

Good people serve the welfare of others even by giving up life itself, which is hardest to give up, as Dadhichi, Shibi and others did. So why hesitate over giving land and such things?

What it means
Compared with the great givers of history, most of what we hold back is small. Generosity grows when we remember what others have bravely given.
