manye dhanabhijanaroopatapahshrut-aujas-tejahprabhavabalapaurushabuddhiyogah
n-aradhanaya hi bhavanti parasya punso bhaktya tutosha bhagavan gajayoothapaya
मन्ये धनाभिजनरूपतपःश्रुतौजस्तेजःप्रभावबलपौरुषबुद्धियोगाः।
नाराधनाय हि भवन्ति परस्य पुंसो भक्त्या तुतोष भगवान्गजयूथपाय॥
I believe that wealth, noble birth, beauty, austerity, learning, energy, influence, strength, effort, intelligence and yoga cannot win the Supreme Person. The Lord was pleased with the elephant king through devotion alone.
What it means

मेरा मानना है कि धन, कुलीनता, रूप, तप, विद्या, ओज, तेज, प्रभाव, बल, पुरुषार्थ, बुद्धि और योग से परम पुरुष की आराधना नहीं होती। भगवान तो गजेंद्र से केवल भक्ति के कारण प्रसन्न हुए।
उपलब्धियों की कोई सूची प्रेम नहीं खरीद सकती। संकट में फँसे एक हाथी ने बस सच्चे मन से पुकारकर भगवान का दिल जीत लिया। कृपा योग्यता से नहीं, सच्चाई से मिलती है।
