Srimad Bhagavatam 7.9.25 meaning

kutr-ashishah shrutisukha mrigatrishniroopah kv-edam kalevaram ashesharujam virohah nirvidyate na tu jano yad ap-eeti vidvan kamanalam madhulavaih shamayan durapaih

How false are the pleasant blessings we hear of, like mirages in a desert, and how full of disease is this body! Yet people, even knowing this, do not grow weary, trying to cool the fire of desire with tiny, hard-won drops of honey.

What it means
Feeding desire to calm it is like pouring drops of honey on a fire. Notice the cycle of 'just one more', and look for contentment instead of more fuel.

Spoken by Prahlada.
