Srimad Bhagavatam 5.12.7 meaning
shochyan imans tvam adhikashtadeenan vishtya nigrihnan niranugrahosi
janasya gopt-asmi vikatthamano na shobhase vriddhasabhasu dhrishtah
शोच्यानिमांस्त्वमधिकष्टदीनान्विष्ट्या निगृह्णन्निरनुग्रहोऽसि।
जनस्य गोप्तास्मि विकत्थमानो न शोभसे वृद्धसभासु धृष्टः॥
You force these poor, overworked people to carry you without pay, and you show them no kindness. Boasting that you protect the people, you look shameless and do not shine in the gatherings of the wise.
What it means
Leadership is judged by how you treat those beneath you, not by the titles you hold. Real protectors notice the tired shoulders that carry them and respond with fairness.हिंदी में अर्थ
तुम इन गरीब, थके हुए लोगों से बिना मज़दूरी के अपना बोझ उठवाते हो और उन पर कोई दया नहीं करते। प्रजा का रक्षक होने की डींग मारते हुए तुम ढीठ लगते हो और ज्ञानियों की सभा में शोभा नहीं पाते।
नेतृत्व की परख इस बात से होती है कि आप अपने नीचे वालों से कैसा व्यवहार करते हैं, पदवी से नहीं। सच्चा रक्षक अपना बोझ उठाने वालों की थकान देखता है और न्याय करता है।
