Srimad Bhagavatam 5.11.16 meaning

na yavad etan mana atmalingam sansaratapavapanam janasya yach chokamohamayaragalobha-vairanubandham mamatam vidhatte

As long as this mind, which covers the self, is not overcome, it keeps sowing the pain of worldly life. It creates grief, confusion, sickness, attachment, greed and hostility, and the feeling of 'mine'.

What it means
Much of our suffering is manufactured inside. Noticing how the mind spins stories of loss and rivalry is the first step toward stepping out of them.
