Srimad Bhagavatam 2.2.4 meaning

satyam kshitau kim kashipoh prayasair bahau svasiddhe hy upabarhanaih kim saty anjalau kim purudh-annapatrya digvalkal-adau sati kim dukoolaih

When the earth is there, why struggle for a bed? When you have your own arm, why need pillows? When you have cupped hands, why many dishes? When there are bark and open space, why fine silk?

What it means
Shuka asks how much we really need. Not everyone must live like a hermit, but asking this honestly frees you from chasing things that only add weight to life.
