Srimad Bhagavatam 2.1.18 meaning

niyachched vishayebhyokshan manasa buddhisarathih manah karmabhir akshiptam shubharthe dharayed dhiya

With intelligence as the charioteer, one should use the mind to pull the senses back from their objects. When the mind is dragged away by activity, steady it on what is good through understanding.

What it means
Your senses pull, your mind follows, but your judgement can hold the reins. When you notice yourself drifting, gently bring attention back to what is worthwhile. That is the whole practice.
