Srimad Bhagavatam 11.9.15 meaning

griharambho hi duhkhaya viphalash ch-adhruvatmanah sarpah parakritam veshma pravishya sukham edhate

For a mortal being, building houses brings sorrow and is ultimately fruitless. A snake simply enters a home made by others and lives there happily.

What it means
The snake does not build; it uses what is there. This is a nudge against endless accumulation and over-planning. Life is short; don't spend it all building what you may not need.

Spoken by Avadhuta.
