shuddhir nrinam na tu tath-edya durashayanam vidyashrut-adhyayanadanatapahkriyabhih
sattvatmanam rishabha te yashasi pravriddha-sachchraddhaya shravanasambhritaya yatha syat
शुद्धिर्नृणां न तु तथेड्य दुराशयानां विद्याश्रुताध्ययनदानतपःक्रियाभिः।
सत्त्वात्मनामृषभ ते यशसि प्रवृद्धसच्छ्रद्धया श्रवणसम्भृतया यथा स्यात्॥
Adorable Lord, people with impure hearts are not purified by learning, study of scripture, charity, austerity or rituals as much as pure-hearted people are purified by faith in your glory, nourished by hearing about you.

Outward achievements like learning and charity do not automatically change the heart. What truly transforms us is sincere faith and love, nourished by listening to what is good.हिंदी में अर्थ
हे पूजनीय प्रभु, मलिन हृदय वाले लोग विद्या, शास्त्र-अध्ययन, दान, तप या कर्मकांड से उतने शुद्ध नहीं होते, जितना शुद्ध हृदय वाले आपकी महिमा सुनकर बढ़ी हुई श्रद्धा से होते हैं।
विद्या और दान जैसी बाहरी उपलब्धियाँ अपने आप हृदय नहीं बदलतीं। जो हमें सच में बदलता है, वह है सच्ची श्रद्धा और प्रेम, जो अच्छी बातें सुनने से पोषित होता है।
