sukhaduhkhaprado n-anyah purushasy-atmavibhramah mitr-odaseenaripavah sansaras tamasah kritah

No one else gives a person happiness or sorrow; it is the self's own confusion. Friends, neutral people and enemies, this whole cycle of worldly life, are made by ignorance.

What it means
Others can affect us, but how we interpret them shapes most of our joy and pain. Taking ownership of your reactions is the start of real freedom.

Spoken by Krishna.
