Srimad Bhagavatam · Skandha 11
Srimad Bhagavatam 11.23.49 meaning
deham manomatram imam griheetva mam-aham ity andhadhiyo manushyah
eshoham anyoyam iti bhramena durantapare tamasi bhramanti
Taking this body, which is just a product of the mind, as 'I' and 'mine', people with blinded understanding wander in endless darkness, confused by the idea 'this is me, that is someone else'.
What it means
The sharp line between 'me' and 'them' is often drawn by the mind. Softening it even a little makes room for empathy and calm. We are less separate than we think.
Spoken by Brahmin Mendicant.
