Srimad Bhagavatam 11.19.37 meaning
dandanyasah param danam kamatyagas tapah smritam
svabhavavijayah shauryam satyam cha samadarshanam
दण्डन्यासः परं दानं कामत्यागस्तपः स्मृतम्।
स्वभावविजयः शौर्यं सत्यं च समदर्शनम्॥
Giving up the urge to punish or harm is the highest charity. Renouncing selfish desire is true austerity. Conquering one's own nature is real courage. Seeing all equally is truth.

दूसरों को दंड या हानि देने की इच्छा छोड़ना सबसे बड़ा दान है। स्वार्थी कामनाओं का त्याग सच्चा तप है। अपने स्वभाव को जीतना असली वीरता है। सबको समान देखना सत्य है।
कृष्ण बड़े शब्दों को निजी अर्थ देते हैं: दान है हानि न पहुँचाना, वीरता है खुद को जीतना, सत्य है निष्पक्षता। ये गुण कोई भी आज से अपना सकता है।
