alabdhva na visheedeta kale kaleshanam kvachit
labdhva na hrishyed dhritiman ubhayam daivatantritam
If at times he gets no food, a steady person should not despair; if he gets it, he should not rejoice. Both are in the hands of destiny.
What it means
Gains and losses come and go, often beyond our control. Meeting both with the same steadiness, without despair or excitement, protects your peace from the endless swings of fortune.
Spoken by Krishna.
