Srimad Bhagavatam · Skandha 1
Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.14 meaning
apannah sansritim ghoram yan nama vivasho grinan
tatah sadyo vimuchyeta yad bibheti svayam bhayam
Someone trapped in the terrible cycle of birth and death is set free at once by uttering his name, even without meaning to. Fear itself is afraid of him.
What it means
The image is striking: even fear is afraid of the divine. Remembering a name you trust, even half-heartedly, can cut through panic. You do not need perfect faith to reach for help.
Spoken by Sages.
