Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.11 meaning
bhooreeni bhoorikarmani shrotavyani vibhagashah
atah sadhotra yat saram samuddhritya maneeshaya
broohi bhadraya bhootanam yen-atma supraseedati
भूरीणि भूरिकर्माणि श्रोतव्यानि विभागशः।
अतः साधोऽत्र यत्सारं समुद्धृत्य मनीषया।
ब्रूहि भद्राय भूतानां येनात्मा सुप्रसीदति॥
There are countless scriptures and countless duties to hear about, one by one. So, wise one, pick out their essence with your insight and tell it to us, for the good of all beings, so that the heart becomes truly calm.
What it means

सुनने योग्य शास्त्र बहुत हैं और उनमें बताए कर्म भी अनगिनत हैं। इसलिए हे साधु, अपनी बुद्धि से इनका सार निकालकर सबके भले के लिए हमें बताइए, जिससे मन पूरी तरह शांत हो जाए।
जब जानकारी अनंत हो, तब सार की ज़रूरत होती है। ऋषि और ज्ञान नहीं, वह एक बात माँगते हैं जिससे मन को सच्ची शांति मिले। हर शिक्षक और हर किताब से यही पूछना चाहिए।
