Bhagavad Gita 8.5 meaning

antakale cha mam eva smaran muktva kalevaram yah prayati sa madbhavam yati nasty-atra sanshayah

Whoever leaves the body at the time of death remembering me alone comes to my nature. Of this there is no doubt.

What it means
What fills the mind at the end matters. Krishna offers reassurance: hold on to the divine and you are not lost. Death need not be faced in terror when the heart is anchored in something eternal.

Spoken by Krishna.
