Bhagavad Gita 8.3 meaning
aksharam brahma paramam svabhavodhyatmam uchyate
bhootabhav-odbhavakaro visargah karmasanjnitah
The imperishable, supreme reality is Brahman. One's own essential nature is called the inner self. The creative offering that brings all beings into existence is called karma.
What it means
Krishna gives short answers: the eternal reality is Brahman; your true nature is the self; the force that sets life in motion is karma. Behind everything that changes, he says, something unchanging remains. How it helps in real life
- When you are worried: Everything is changing: new job, new city, new home? Each night, remind yourself something unchanging remains inside, and sleep easier.
- At work: Confused about why your efforts at work matter? See each task as part of a bigger flow of action, and do today's well.
Spoken by Krishna.
