Lift yourself up by your own effort; never drag yourself down. You alone are your own best friend, and you alone can be your own worst enemy.
What it means
No one can do your inner work for you. The voice in your head can cheer you on or tear you down. Choose to be on your own side, every single day.How it helps in real life
- After a setback: Calling yourself 'useless' after a failed interview? Talk to yourself like you'd talk to a friend, and apply for two more jobs today.
- Health & body: Waiting for someone to push you to get fit? Be your own friend; lace up your shoes tomorrow morning and walk twenty minutes.
Spoken by Krishna.
