Bhagavad Gita 6.19 meaning
yatha deepo nivatastho nengate sopama smrita
yogino yatachittasya yunjato yogam atmanah
Like a lamp in a windless place that does not flicker: that is the image used for the disciplined mind of a yogi absorbed in meditation.
What it means
Picture a flame in still air, burning straight and bright. That is a focused mind. Distractions are the wind; meditation is learning to find the sheltered place within. How it helps in real life
- Studies & exams: Preparing for NEET with a noisy household? Find one quiet corner, shut the door, and protect it for your daily study hours.
- At work: Deep work keeps getting interrupted by Slack pings? Set status to 'focusing', silence notifications, and work like a steady flame for an hour.
Spoken by Krishna.
