Bhagavad Gita · Karma Sannyasa Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 5.22 meaning
ye hi sansparshaja bhoga duhkhayonaya eva te
adyantavantah kaunteya na teshu ramate budhah
Pleasures born from contact with the senses are really sources of suffering. They have a beginning and an end, Arjuna; the wise do not delight in them.
What it means
Every pleasure that comes through the senses also leaves. The thrill fades and often leaves a craving behind. Enjoy life, but do not build your happiness on things that are bound to end.How it helps in real life
- With money: Retail therapy after every bad week, then regret? Next time, take a long walk instead and see how long the urge lasts.
- In love & marriage: Building your happiness only on weekend dates? Find one daily thing that brings you joy on your own, like music or cooking.
Spoken by Krishna.
