Bhagavad Gita · Karma Sannyasa Yoga
Bhagavad Gita 5.14 meaning
na kartritvam na karmani lokasya srijati prabhuh
na karmaphala-sanyogam svabhavas tu pravartate
The Lord does not create the sense of being a doer, nor actions, nor the link between actions and their fruits for people. It is nature that drives all this.
What it means
It is easy to blame God for our choices and their results. Krishna says our own nature and habits set things in motion. Taking responsibility for that nature is the first step toward changing it.How it helps in real life
- After a setback: Blaming bad luck for failing your driving test twice? Look at your own habits honestly, book ten practice hours, and try again.
- With money: Credit card bills piling up and you say 'God's will'? Check last month's statement, spot your spending pattern, and cut one category.
Spoken by Krishna.
