Bhagavad Gita 4.29 meaning
apane juhvati pranam pranepanam tathapare
pranapanagatee ruddhva pranayama-parayanah
Some offer the outgoing breath into the incoming breath, and the incoming into the outgoing. Restraining the flow of both, they devote themselves to breath control.
What it means
Even breathing can become a practice of devotion. Slowing and balancing the breath settles the mind. Next time you feel overwhelmed, a few calm, conscious breaths can be your own small offering. How it helps in real life
- When you are worried: Heart pounding before a job interview? Breathe in for four counts, out for six, five times, then walk in.
- Every day: Before checking your phone after waking, do two minutes of slow, even breathing sitting up in bed.
Spoken by Krishna.
