Bhagavad Gita 2.22 meaning
vasansi jeernani yatha vihaya navani grihnati naroparani
tatha shareerani vihaya jeernany anyani sanyati navani dehee
Just as a person throws away worn-out clothes and puts on new ones, the soul leaves worn-out bodies and enters new ones.
What it means
A simple, powerful image: the body is like clothing, and death is a change of clothes. It doesn't remove the pain of loss, but it can bring a quieter, hopeful way of seeing it.
Spoken by Krishna.
