The divine qualities lead to freedom, while the demonic ones lead to bondage. Do not worry, Arjuna, you are born with a divine nature.
What it means
Krishna sees Arjuna worrying and reassures him. Good qualities free us, bad ones trap us. Sometimes the very fact that you worry about being a good person shows that you already are one.How it helps in real life
- After a setback: Lying awake wondering if you're a bad person after a mistake? The worry itself shows your heart; apologise if needed, then sleep.
- As a parent: Your child cries, scared that lying once makes her bad. Hug her, tell her she is good inside, and help her say sorry.
Spoken by Krishna.
