Bhagavad Gita 16.18 meaning

ahankaram balam darpam kamam krodham cha sanshritah mam atmaparadeheshu pradvishantobhyasooyakah

Relying on ego, power, arrogance, desire and anger, these envious people hate Me, who lives in their own bodies and in the bodies of others.

What it means
Krishna says the divine lives in every body. So when we hate or put others down out of jealousy, we are really harming the same sacred life that lives in us. Respect for others is respect for God.

Spoken by Krishna.
