Ashtavakra Gita 7.4 meaning
natma bhaveshu no bhavas tatr-anante niranjane
ity-asaktosprihah shanta etad ev-aham asthitah
नात्मा भावेषु नो भावस्तत्रानन्ते निरञ्जने।
इत्यसक्तोऽस्पृहः शान्त एतदेवाहमास्थितः॥
The Self is not in objects, and no object is in that infinite, spotless Self. So I am unattached, free of craving and at peace. In this alone I stay.
What it means
Your identity is not stored in your phone, car or title, and those things cannot enter your deepest self. Knowing this lets you use and enjoy things without your peace depending on them.हिंदी में अर्थ
आत्मा वस्तुओं में नहीं है, और उस अनंत निर्मल आत्मा में कोई वस्तु नहीं। इसलिए मैं निर्लिप्त, इच्छा-रहित और शांत हूँ। इसी में टिका हूँ।
तुम्हारी पहचान फ़ोन, गाड़ी या पद में नहीं रखी, और ये चीज़ें तुम्हारे असली स्वरूप तक नहीं पहुँचतीं। यह जानकर चीज़ों का इस्तेमाल करो, पर शांति उन पर मत टिकाओ।
