Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 20
Ashtavakra Gita 20.2 meaning
kva shastram kv-atmavijnanam kva va nirvishayam manah
kva triptih kva vitrishnatvam gatadvandvasya me sada
Where are the scriptures, where is knowledge of the Self, where is a mind free of objects? Where is satisfaction and where is freedom from craving, for me, always beyond all pairs of opposites?
What it means
Books and practices point the way, but they are not the destination. When you have arrived at inner peace, even the idea of being 'satisfied' or 'desireless' becomes unnecessary.
Spoken by Janaka.
