Ashtavakra Gita 2.7 meaning
atm-ajnanaj jagad bhati atmajnanan na bhasate
rajjv-ajnanad ahir bhati tajjnanad bhasate na hi
आत्माज्ञानाज्जगद्भाति आत्मज्ञानान्न भासते।
रज्ज्वज्ञानादहिर्भाति तज्ज्ञानाद्भासते न हि॥
Not knowing the Self, the world appears as something separate; knowing the Self, it no longer does. Not knowing the rope, a snake appears; once the rope is known, the snake is gone.
What it means
Fear often comes from not seeing clearly. Turn on the light, look at what is really there, and the threat you imagined loses its power. Clarity is the most reliable cure for panic.हिंदी में अर्थ
आत्मा को न जानने से संसार अलग दिखता है; आत्मा को जानने पर वह वैसा नहीं दिखता। रस्सी को न पहचानने से साँप दिखता है; पहचान लेने पर साँप गायब हो जाता है।
डर अक्सर साफ़ न देख पाने से आता है। रोशनी जलाओ, जो सच में है उसे देखो, और कल्पना का खतरा अपनी ताकत खो देता है। घबराहट का सबसे भरोसेमंद इलाज साफ़ समझ है।
