Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 2
Ashtavakra Gita 2.16 meaning
dvaitamoolam aho duhkham nanyat tasy-asti bheshajam
drishyam etan mrisha sarvam ekoham chidrasomalah
Ah, the root of suffering is seeing everything as divided. There is no other medicine for it than this: all that is seen is false, and I am the one, pure essence of awareness.
What it means
Much pain comes from 'me versus them' thinking: comparison, rivalry, feeling cut off. Remembering that you share one deeper reality with others is a medicine for envy, conflict and isolation.
Spoken by Janaka.
