Ashtavakra Gita 18.99 meaning
na preeyate vandyamano nindyamano na kupyati
naivodvijati marane jeevane nabhinandati
न प्रीयते वन्द्यमानो निन्द्यमानो न कुप्यति।
नैवोद्विजति मरणे जीवने नाभिनन्दति॥
He is not pleased when praised, nor angry when blamed. He is not shaken by death, nor does he rejoice in being alive.
What it means
Praise and criticism both pull us around if we let them. So do fear of death and clinging to life. Steadiness through all of these is the mark of a free heart.हिंदी में अर्थ
प्रशंसा होने पर वह प्रसन्न नहीं होता, निंदा होने पर क्रोधित नहीं होता। मृत्यु से वह घबराता नहीं, और जीवन पर इतराता नहीं।
प्रशंसा और आलोचना दोनों हमें खींचती हैं, अगर हम खिंचने दें। मृत्यु का डर और जीवन से चिपकना भी। इन सबमें स्थिर रहना मुक्त हृदय की पहचान है।
