Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 18
Ashtavakra Gita 18.57 meaning
kartavyataiva sansaro na tam pashyanti soorayah
shoonyakara nirakara nirvikara niramayah
The feeling that 'there is something I must do' is itself worldly bondage. The wise do not see things that way. They are like open space, formless, unchanging and untroubled.
What it means
The constant pressure of 'I should, I must' is what traps us. You can still do things, but without that heavy sense of obligation. Then life feels spacious instead of like an endless to-do list.
Spoken by Ashtavakra.
