Ashtavakra Gita 18.56 meaning
santushtopi na santushtah khinnopi na cha khidyate
tasyashcharyadasham tam tam tadrisha eva janate
Though pleased, he is not really pleased; though pained, he does not really suffer. Only those who are like him understand his wonderful state.
What it means
Feelings can pass over you like weather without becoming the whole sky. You feel joy and sorrow, but they do not define you. People who have tasted this recognise it in each other.
Spoken by Ashtavakra.
