vishayadveepino veekshya chakitah sharanarthinah
vishanti jhatiti krodam nirodhaikagrya-siddhaye
विषयद्वीपिनो वीक्ष्य चकिताः शरणार्थिनः।
विशन्ति झटिति क्रोडं निरोधैकाग्र्यसिद्धये॥
Seeing the tigers of sense pleasures, frightened people seeking shelter rush into a cave to practise control and one-pointed focus.

विषय-भोग रूपी बाघों को देखकर डरे हुए, शरण खोजने वाले लोग झटपट गुफा में घुस जाते हैं, ताकि मन को रोक सकें और एकाग्र हो सकें।
प्रलोभन से भागना कभी उपयोगी है, पर उसके पीछे डर होता है। अगर शांत रहने के लिए जीवन से छिपना पड़े, तो वह शांति कमज़ोर है। समझ भागने से गहरी है।
