Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 18
Ashtavakra Gita 18.41 meaning
kva nirodho vimoodhasya yo nirbandham karoti vai
svaramasyaiva dheerasya sarvadasav akritrimah
How can the confused one, who forces it, truly control the mind? For the wise one who delights in himself, that stillness is always natural and unforced.
What it means
Clamping down on thoughts is like holding a ball under water; it keeps popping up. When you are content in yourself, the mind settles on its own, the way muddy water clears when left alone.
Spoken by Ashtavakra.
