Ashtavakra Gita · Chapter 13
Ashtavakra Gita 13.1 meaning
akinchanabhavam svasthyam kaupeenatvepi durlabham
tyagadane vihay-asmad aham ase yathasukham
The ease that comes from owning nothing is rare even for one wearing only a loincloth. So, dropping both giving up and taking, I live happily as I am.
What it means
Owning less does not automatically bring peace; you can be attached to your simplicity too. Freedom comes when you stop obsessing over both getting and giving up.
Spoken by Janaka.
