Yoga Sutras · Kaivalya Pada

Yoga Sutras 4.34 meaning

purushartha-shoonyanam gunanam pratiprasavah kaivalyam svaroopa-pratishtha va chitishaktir iti

When the guṇas have no more purpose for the Self, they dissolve back into their source. That is kaivalya: pure awareness resting in its own true nature.

What it means
The goal of yoga is simply this: to rest as who you truly are, free and whole, no longer pushed around by the world. Every practice, every breath, points home to this.

Spoken by Patanjali.
