Yoga Sutras 2.54 meaning

svavishay-asamprayoge chittasvaroop-anukara iv-endriyanam pratyaharah

Pratyāhāra is when the senses withdraw from their objects and, as it were, follow the mind's own inward nature instead of chasing things outside.

What it means
Your eyes, ears and cravings constantly pull you outward: notifications, noise, food, screens. Pratyāhāra is learning to turn the volume down, so the senses serve your inner direction instead of dragging you around.

Spoken by Patanjali.
