Vivekachudamani 6 meaning

vadantu shastrani yajantu devan kurvantu karmani bhajantu devatah atm-aikyabodhena vin-api muktir na sidhyati brahmashat-antarepi

People may quote scriptures, offer sacrifices to gods, perform rituals and worship deities, but without realising their oneness with the Self, there is no liberation, not even in a hundred lifetimes of Brahma.

What it means
Rituals and religious activity can be meaningful, but they are not the destination. Shankara insists that real freedom comes from understanding who you truly are.

Spoken by Adi Shankaracharya.
