baddham kalasya pashena sarvabhootapaharina
na nashyantam upeksheyam pradeeptam sharanam yatha
बद्धं कालस्य पाशेन सर्वभूतापहारिणा।
न नश्यन्तमुपेक्षेयं प्रदीप्तं शरणं यथा॥
I cannot stand by and watch you perish, bound by the noose of time that carries off all beings, any more than I could ignore a house on fire.
